Coaching Requirements by Team applies to all Crowfoot Hockey Teams including House League Teams.

The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) is available through Calgary Hockey Development. Each team must have one member of the coaching staff with valid Coach Certification. It is highly recommended that an alternate coach be NCCP certified as during the hockey season the designate NCCP coach may not be able to perform his duties due to illness, suspension or other personal reasons.
INTRO TO HOCKEY- Mandatory for coaches at the Timbits level regardless of other levels of NCCP you have.
COACH LEVEL- Mandatory for coaches at the Novice level & above. Initiation Level is not a prerequisite for Coach Level.
The Coach Level Pre-Task Workbook is to be downloaded from the website and completed before attending the clinic.
DEVELOPMENT 1- Mandatory for coaches PeeWee Div 1, AA level and u. This is a two day clinic.
Safety Certification
CANADIAN HOCKEY SAFETY PROGRAM (CHSP)- Mandatory for every team registered with Hockey Calgary. One coach or trainer registered to the team must complete the Canadian Hockey Program and that coach or trainer MUST be on the bench for all games. No equivalency course/clinic is accepted. Safety Certification is valid for three hockey seasons.

Abuse and Harassment
SPEAK OUT ABUSE AND HARASSMENT: Mandatory for every team registered with Hockey Calgary. One coach or trainer registered to the team must complete the Speak Out Program and that coach or trainer MUST be on the bench for all games.
Checking Skills: Mandatory for coaches at the PeeWee levels.
Clinic Reimbursement
Crowfoot Minor Hockey will reimburse all individuals who complete the certification clinics. Drop off the Clinic receipt in the Arena lobby blue box or foward your receipt by email to admin@crowfoothockey.com. Indicate on the receipt which division and team you are with (e.g. Novice 2) and provide your mailing address. The reimbursement cheque will be mailed to you in approximately two to three weeks.
