Manager Information - Current News
November 2008

Thanks to the Managers who attended the Managers' Meeting.
Click here for notes from this October 20th Meeting.

                                                                     Additional Information and Tips

**
Team website tool for Managers to organize and communicate with your team.  www.teamsnap.com
It's free of charge and very user friendly.

-          www.teamsnap.com is a good management tool for your team and is currently free.  Besides being a good source to communicate with your parents, it can contain team schedules, directions for Arena locations, and can indicate which families have paid their ‘team fees’ if this is collected.  As every player is given an ID (and can submit a picture for their ID), they can also be accountable to you if they can or cannot attend the scheduled practices or games.  Team schedules can be forwarded to non team members, ie relatives and friends.

**  Re:  ScotiaBank Community Hockey Sponsorship Program.
Crowfoot teams will not be able to obtain funding from this program as one of their criteria is to have the 'Scotia Bank' crest sewn on our jerseys.   The Associaion will not allow this crest or any other item to be sewn on our team jerseys.  These jerseys are property of Crowfoot Hockey and a team is not permitted to be paid for advertising to be placed on them.  Many of our jerseys have corporate sponsorhip and these companies have paid for a set of jerseys for their company name to be advertised.  Adding a Scotia Bank crest or any other crest would be a conflict of interest.

**  Crowfoot Clothing Policy has changed for the 2008-2009 season. See the "Clothing" section on our website.

** Teams planning on having a raffle for their fundraising, please do not use the AB Gaming ID# that belongs to the Crowfoot Hockey Association.  This ID belongs to the Association.  As teams do not always follow through on the financial report that is required, this jeopardizes our Gaming License.

Teams that would like more information from Alberta Gaming regarding raffles, go to www.aglc.gov.ab.ca.   Instructions can be found here on how to apply for a license.

**  One of our Managers, Vini Sciore, has forwarded information from Rainbow Travel.  Click here for proposal.

Firstly, the Crowfoot board is aware of this proposal and while they did not mandate that every team use this agency, they did recognize its merits. To my knowledge (and I've managed 11 or 12 teams over the years), we are not covered by any kind of liability insurance where travel arrangements are concerned. We would be covered if we go through this agency (not all travel agencies carry this kind of liability insurance).

Secondly, managers would contact Rainbow with dates and times for tourneys and Rainbow would then do the rest (I've used Don on 4 separate occassions and he really does understand group travel) for the one time fees listed and for whatever sized group is involved.

I think the rest is self explanatory but if you need further clarification, please feel free to contact me. Thanks.
